What is the fine for late materials?

Answer

Reed Library does not charge fines more most late materials. In general there are only two types of fines associated with late return of Reed Library materials.

1. Course Reserves:  $1 per hour (max $20.00 per item). A hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to borrow, renew, or request materials if your overdue fines total $25 or more.

2. Reserve DVD's$1 per hour (max $20.00 per item). A hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to borrow, renew, or request materials if your overdue fines total $25 or more.

There are also fines associated with materials that Reed does not own, but borrows for you from other libraries:

1. Prospector: Current students, faculty, and staff members with no outstanding charges on their library account may order materials through Prospector. Overdue fines are $0.50 per day.

2. Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Current students, faculty, and staff members may order materials through Interlibrary Loan. Overdue fines are $1 per day. You will not be able to borrow physical materials if you have any outstanding charges on your library account. Electronic resources may be requested if your overdue fines are less than $25.
